Mayor Ryan Arndorfer
Welcome to Britt!
The City of Britt – like this website – has something for everyone. Whether you have grown up here or plan to visit, this information will connect you to the people and places that make our community a fantastic place to live, work, and grow.
We are a city of just over 2,000 whose residents host tens of thousands of visitors per year. Cyclists coming through on RAGBRAI or tourists venturing here to for our annual National Hobo Days Convention are all treated to our unfailing hospitality and sense-of-fun. Cultural and recreational opportunities abound courtesy of three museums, a nine-hole golf course, a family aquatic center, well-maintained parks, and one of the best public libraries in the state. In addition, the city of Britt is proud to host the Hancock County Fair and the Britt Draft Horse Show each summer as well as a full season of racing at the Hancock County Speedway. We are your small-town place to experience life in big ways.
I hope you spend time checking out the businesses on our vibrant Main Street when you are in town. And, please, use the convenient Chamber of Commerce directory found here to identify companies and organizations ready to meet your specific needs. Our local economy thrives because of the people who choose to live and work here. Maybe that will soon be you.
We have an outstanding school district, and our hospital and clinic are always expanding to meet patient needs. Please plan to visit, tour our community, and meet with local realtors to find out if our city feels like home for your family or business. I’d be happy to meet with you and share a cup of coffee or a meal in one of our family-owned restaurants as well. Simply call city hall at 641-843-4433. We’ll make it happen.
Again, welcome to the city of Britt. I’m extremely grateful you are here.
