Deputy Clerk: City of Britt, Iowa
General Duties: The Deputy Clerk is responsible for performing confidential, administrative support for the City Administrator. The position is responsible for utility billing, and accounts payable/receivable functions. In addition, the position assists in the administration of City Council functions including agenda, minutes, postings, resolutions, and ordinance administration. The Deputy Clerk also provides support for other City staff and performs general office duties at City Hall including issuing various licenses and permits when City Administrator/Clerk is not in the office.
Qualifications: A degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field desired but not required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position will be considered in lieu of a degree. The desired candidate will have strong customer service and math skills, computer/software (IE: Excel, Word) experience, and a desire to be a team player. Prior experience with accounts payable/receivable and utility billing as well as three years governmental experience is preferred.
